The mention of cider conjures up different memories depending on your first experiences.
For some it was a furtive slurp of cloudy rough cider behind the bike sheds with unfortunate consequences. These associations are depriving many people of the joy of discovering the diverse range of craft cider and perry now available. By combining traditional minimal intervention methods with modern hygiene and technology we are proud to stand alongside fellow award-winning makers in producing very palatable drinks. Critics such as James Finch (quoted on our front page) have validated the quality of our cider and we suggest how you might discover for yourselves which of our products might become your favourites. We all have our preferences, and no two persons’ tastebuds respond the same. What is subtle to some is bland to others. For example, many of the traditional varieties of cider apples and perry pears are high in acidity which gives a lively tang on the tongue. Some are also rich in tannin which gives a ‘back of the mouth’ aftertaste familiar to red wine drinkers. Why not invite a group of friends to a tasting session? We can provide a tasting pack of 6 bottles with guidance on how to organise the event with tasting notes for £25 including postage. |
